Acne

Acne vulgaris, is a common skin disease that causes pimples. Pimples form when hair follicles under your skin clog up with oil, forming blackheads. Most pimples form on the face, neck, back, chest and shoulders and are associated with excess oiliness and blackheads. Anyone can get acne, but it is most common in teenagers and young adults. While acne is not associated with other serious problems, it can lead to scarring. Poor diet, including sugar, soda and junk foods are implicated in causing acne. Hormone changes, such as those during the teenage years and pregnancy, also play a role. Acne can usually be cured with a homeopathic prescription or a retinoid cream in less than three months.

Older adults may get pimples but these are usually due to other causes such as folliculitis (an infection of the hair follicles), perioral dermatitis (an irritation of the skin of the face from excessive exfoliation), or rosacea.   Each of these conditions that mimic acne has a different cause and treatment.  A homeopathic consultation can sort out the cause and the correct treatment for your problem skin.
